We enjoyed our annual Summer ArtsFest on the 7th and 8th July. The festival is always popular and really showcases the artistic abilities of our talented students, it is organised each year by our talented Head of Art Mrs Smith. Students, parents and the general public alike really enjoyed seeing all the amazing work and we were delighted so many attended.
Every student from Nursery to Sixth Form displayed a piece of their work in the exhibition. The event launched on Friday evening with a drinks reception where Dr Walker, Headmaster presented the Headmasters award to two worthy winners – congratulations to Emily F and Dom K. The Headmaster’s award is awarded to the piece that appeals the most to the Head and choosing is never an easy undertaking as so many pieces were fantastic.
We were visited by fine artist and illustrator Colin Procter who ran a workshop for children on the Saturday. The workshop was really fun and resulted in some lovely illustration work created by collage and printing. There were performances from our Pitsford Musicians led by George H in Year 10 who did us proud leading both individual and group performances from the student ensemble. We were excited to be visited by Gallones ice cream van too!
