James Brown was one of Pitsford School’s founding pupils. He left Pitsford School in 1996 after completing A-levels in Economics, French, Maths and General Studies. James went on to study International Business with French at Northumbria University and is now a Director at Daro Furniture, a UK brand specialising in Indoor and Outdoor Woven Furniture, based in Northampton.
James Brown is a Member of the governors’ Education & Personnel committee and is Chairman of the Marketing Committee. James has two children in the Junior school.
My son joined Squirrels in 2002 when my family moved to Northamptonshire from North Yorkshire, and he has since now progressed through the school and has gone onto University. I am a dental surgeon with a background in the care of adults and children with a variety of special needs, and I currently work in a local psychiatric hospital.
I joined the School’s governing body in 2013 and my particular areas of interest are Safeguarding and Health & Safety.

Previous work in the field of sports administration: 1995-2012. Worked for FIFA, UEFA, IOC and Special Olympics. Various roles: Tournament Organisation, competitions management, Protocol and PR Management. Sustainability committee, Anti -Racism committee. Consultant for various sporting organisation and bidding committees.
Personal interests: All sports, participating in Tennis, Triathlon, Cycling and walking. Other interests Music, the Arts and climate change developments.
Andrew was Director of Music at Pitsford School from 2000 until his retirement from teaching in 2013. He now works for the Royal School of Church Music as co-ordinator for the south of England and is an organist and choir director at a church in Northampton. He has served as a governor at Pitsford School since 2014 with particular interest in staff liaison and the curriculum.
My daughters came to Pitsford in 1999 as part of the first cohort of girls. Since then I have been actively involved with the school initially through the PTA then as a Governor. I am a Chartered Accountant and MBA, working as an Interim Financial Controller to businesses in the local area.
I retired in 2016 after 38 years at Loughborough Grammar School, the last 13 as Deputy Head and was twice Acting Headmaster. A mathematician I also was heavily involved in coaching rugby, cricket and athletics; producing plays and singing in the choir. I was responsible for the School’s 500th anniversary and the visit of the Queen in 1996.
From 1998 to 2005 I managed England’s U15 Cricket XI and in2019 was awarded the Times Educational Supplement’s award for ‘Special Services’ to Independent Education.
The Reverend Stephen Trott is also School Chaplain for Pitsford School.
Stephen has been involved with the School since its formation and opening in 1989 and his three children all attended the School.
He is a graduate in English (Hull University), Theology (Cambridge University) and Law (Cardiff University) and has been Rector of Pitsford since 1988.
He is one of the Church Commissioners for England (the UK’s second largest charity) and is the Bishop’s Ecumenical Officer for the Diocese of Peterborough.
He is a trustee of several charities and is the Chair of the Richard Humfrey Charity in Boughton.
