New Head of Juniors after Easter

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Pete Edwins as our next Head of Juniors, taking up the post after Easter in April 2023. Mr Edwins will be replacing Mrs Rachelle Heard our outgoing Head of Juniors. Mrs Heard is hoping to dedicate her time to completing her Education MBA and will be greatly missed by us all.

Mr Edwins brings excellent experience and enthusiasm to the role and will build on the fantastic work already put in place at the Junior School by Mrs Heard. Mr Edwins was most recently Deputy Head (Academic) at local independent school Maidwell Hall. As well as being an English and Drama teaching specialist Mr Edwins has been heavily involved in sports coaching which is a real passion for him and something he is looking forward to doing a lot more of at Pitsford School.

Mr Edwins said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Pitsford Junior School family in the summer term, and very much look forward to building on existing successes, alongside a terrifically dedicated team.

Nurturing the growth and development of those in our care, both within and beyond the classroom is a great responsibility as well as an immense privilege and we never underestimate the trust you place in us, with the care of your children. I can assure you that we will continue to expand the holistic educational experience within the Junior School, so that each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Over the course of the next few months, I am eager and excited to introduce myself to members of the Pitsford Junior School community, and keen to learn from them about what really makes the place tick. If you are able to attend an informal coffee and croissants morning then I look forward to meeting you”

Dr Craig Walker, Headteacher of Pitsford School said of Mr Edwins appointment: “We are so excited to welcome Mr Edwins to Pitsford School to build on the outstanding work of Mrs Heard. Mr Edwins has a fantastic and broad skillset as well as an exciting set of ideas to develop the Junior School even further and the next few years will be thrilling ones”

Parents will receive a Firefly message with dates to meet with Mr Edwins in March and April at some informal coffee sessions.

We very much look forward to welcoming Mr Edwins to the Pitsford community in April and wish him a happy and successful career at our School.
