New Heads of School Roles Announced

Posted: 15th June 2023

It is that eagerly anticipated time of year when Lower Sixth students find out who will be given the chance to take the lead as Heads of School. A meticulous selection process was carried out where students, including the departing Upper Sixth, were asked to pick their preferred candidates. Teachers and tutors were also consulted.

After all that, a decision was made! We are delighted to announce our new Heads of School are Alanna S and Annabelle B. They will play a key role in the School community and will lead the student body as well as act as a bridge between the students and adults in the School.

In addition to the new Heads of School two Deputy Heads of School were appointed: Libby K and Ella S. We have created a new post: Head of Charity, which Luca M is taking on, so that our rich and varied charity initiatives can be co-ordinated and maximised.

Our House system is a passionate and vibrant one, and House Captain is a key post. For next year Head of Hesketh House will be Cara R, joint Heads of Robinson House will be Lauretta W & Ella S and Head of Wake House will be Libbie C.

In spite of their roles not becoming official until the new School year in September the Heads of School and Prefects have already planned a School wide Culture Day event that will take place later this term so they are hitting the ground running! Alanna and Annabelle have said that they have ambitions to join up more closely with Junior School pupils and also to encourage parents to get involved in more projects. The great fundraising tradition of the Sixth Form will continue and there is also a blood drive planned so lots in the pipeline.

Mr Vié, Head of Sixth Form said: “Congratulations to you all! We are very much looking forward to seeing you take on extra responsibilities in the everyday life of Pitsford School”

Dr Walker, Headteacher said: “Our new Upper Sixth are outstanding and committed agents of change: next year will be exciting under their leadership”
