A fond farewell to our Upper Sixth

Friday marked the last official day in school for our Upper Sixth. We shall really miss them!

It’s a tradition on their last day for the Upper Sixth to carry out a prank and we were all very confused on Friday morning when we came into school to find chairs lining every road and path. A huge ‘Take a Seat’ sign at the entrance should have warned us really! It was a wonderful prank and very imaginative – touché Upper Sixth. It has apparently been three years in the planning.

In the afternoon the whole Senior School made their way to the local church in Pitsford village for the Leavers’ Service. The Upper Sixth students pulled together the order of service themselves (even designing the booklet!) and chose songs, hymns and readings that are special and meaningful to them. Everyone from the year group contributed in some way during the service.

Our annual Leavers’ Dinner in the evening marked the end of an emotional day. Pitsford Hall was transformed for a formal dinner, attended by all of Upper Sixth. The Headteacher, senior leadership team and Sixth Form tutors also attended, it was a real celebration and featured speeches from the Head Boy and Head Girl, Thomas and Tianna.

Exams continue for the next few weeks, so students will be popping back to school to sit them. The students have studied so hard and deserve to do well, we are very proud of them. We will be excited to see everyone back at Pitsford Hall in their finery for the Sixth Form Ball at the end of exams.

Mrs King, Head of Sixth Form will miss the students greatly and said:

“They have been a fantastic Upper Sixth, they have given a great deal back to the school and community through their volunteering with younger pupils and charity fund raising.  We have been very lucky to have them in the school and wish them all the best for a very happy and successful future”

The Upper Sixth have been very ably led by three Heads of School. Our thanks to Thomas – Head Boy, Tianna – Head Girl and Eva-Mae – Deputy Head Girl, your contributions to the School have been enormous. Thomas said of the School, “Pitsford has provided me with the happiest of environments to grow up in”.

Many of the Upper Sixth have been at Pitsford since Junior School and we will miss seeing them – very happy last day of school Class of 2022!
