The Under 15s went out to the RFU National Bowl to a strong Bilton side. The game came with plenty of pressure and the team (which has just hit a rich vein of form) were very hopeful of progressing to the last 32. Unfortunately that pressure told and the team uncharacteristically started in such a nervous fashion, caused understandably by some sizable and strong Bilton players, they soon found themselves 22 points behind.
The loss of influential players such as Matt L made the task all the tougher, but soon a determination and belief shone through as the players began to realise their potential. This allowed the team to grab a confidence boosting score right before half time.
Half time 22-5.
The second half was a much better performance with Peter S and Tyler S now both playing like man possessed and leading a comeback charge from the frontline. The team rallied like we have never witnessed before and made a full list of attempting a very large comeback mission.
Unfortunately it just wasn't quite to be but the final score did depict a much better second half finishing 39-31 to Bilton School.
The side was left to rue its start to the game, but hopefully learnt a lot from it and the whole experience and most importantly demonstrated a strong team spirit and resilience which we hope to hold them in good stead going forward.
We were very proud of all their efforts.
We still have the County Plate to focus our attention on, which is Pitsford V Chenderit School on Thursday 7th December 2017 County Plate Semi-Final. To be played at home.
