Pitsford kicked off the game and from the first minute they were under pressure from the Oakham attack. However solid defence gave Pitsford chance to steal the ball and the chance to settle in the game. A lapse in concentration in a Pitsford attack then saw Oakham turn over possession and run in for the first score of the day from their own 10m line.
The next two tries of the day soon followed, Pitsford missed tackles as Oakham ran in from the distance. To this point it was very frustrating as Pitsford with ball in hand looked like they could break the line at any point, however lack of support in the ruck or handling mistakes kept seeing them lose the ball.
Up stepped Oliver T who decided he was going to really take the game to Oakham. A solid scrum created a clean ball for Joshua R at scrum half to unleash the backline. Oliver managed to get on to the outside shoulder of his opposite man saw him streak past him to score in the corner.
Pitsford now started to look after the ball a little better, with Thomas P really running hard all afternoon making good inroads in to the Oakham defence. Unfortunately a late turnover saw Oakham run the length of the pitch after this pressure and a last ditch tackle from Harris C stopped the initial score. A quick ball and a well executed 2 v 1 saw the home side score in the corner again.

The second half kicked off and Pitsford, determined to turn the game around, started playing some really good rugby. Some big carries from Liam R and Praveen V saw a hole open up in the centre for the electric Luca M to ghost past the tacklers to score under the post.
Oakham returned with vengeance and pushed through some more tackles to score. End to end rugby though saw the Pitsford backline execute quick hands down the line to find Oliver T who again showed some real speed to race in from 30m out for his second try of the day.
Unfortunately the last 10 minutes saw the Pitsford side tire and Oakham ran in for a further 3 tries.
