Rugby U13 B XIII V Oratory Prep XII

8th November 2017

It was a fantastic start from the Pitsford side who were playing up the slope in the first half, with Oratory under pressure from the off. Some unforced handling errors in contact saw Pitsford unable to convert the pressure into points. Missed tackles led to Oratory taking the lead at half time. The 2nd half saw a much improved defensive play from Pitsford, however this took away from their rucking abilities with Oratory counter rucking and winning the ball on far too many occasions.

Fantastic passing skills shown throughout, but contact area skills needed some further work.

Although the score was 6 tries to 1 against Pitsford, what a performance!

Pitsford playing the second game with no real rest seemed to have woken up from the bus journey. There was a vast improvement in their contact skills throughout the match. The game was played at a much higher speed with Carl M playing like a man possessed, his routine included an outstanding combination of play from him; tackle, ruck, running straight into their forwards, popping out the other side and then racing to score a try - fantastic to watch.

Unfortunately this was Pitsfords only try of the afternoon by well deserved.

Pitsford tiring toward the end of the 2nd game conceding 3 tries in the last 3 minutes.
