GCSE Success for Pitsford Pupils
Pitsford Pupils are celebrating their GCSE results after a long summer of waiting and they have every reason to celebrate.
This year has been particularly nerve wracking for pupils, parents and teachers alike with the new introduction of GCSE Grades 9-1 in both English and Maths, and both syllabuses assessing more challenging content and skills than in previous years. Nethertheless, Pitsford pass rates are high with a 97% pass rate in Maths and 94% in English Language. In Mathematics 42% of pupils achieved grade 7 or above, broadly in line with the A/A* grades of the old syllabus and three pupils gained the elusive grade 9. Over 25% of all exams sat achieved an A*/A grade.
The statistics however, are not the complete picture: whilst the percentage of pupils gaining 5 A*-C is 83% this year, there are also a huge number of individual successes. We would like to congratulate Samuel Gibbs and Temi Ajayi (who both obtained 9 A*s), Henry Goodwin (4 A*, 5 As) and Lilly Hagenberg (4 A*, 4As), not forgetting all those pupils who met or exceeded their own expectations.
