Mr A Tait
Chair of Governors
Retired after 37 years as a British Airways 747-400 Captain. As a pilot with BA he was responsible for the training and examination of airline pilots, both in the simulator and on the aircraft.
Two of his boys attended Pitsford School.
Mr Tait is a Chairman of the Governing Committee and he is a member of the governors’ Education & Personnel Committee.

Mr M Adams
I have an extensive background in farming and machinery marketing. I built up and manage Spring Hill Office Park based locally in Pitsford where approximately 150 employees are based.
I have two children, one of whom is currently in Year 13 at Pitsford School.
I am a member of the School’s Estates & Finance Committee and the Marketing Committee.
Mr J Brown
James Brown was one of Pitsford School’s founding pupils. He left Pitsford School in 1996 after completing A-levels in Economics, French, Maths and General Studies. James went on to study International Business with French at Northumbria University and is now a Director at Daro Furniture, a UK brand specialising in Indoor and Outdoor Woven Furniture, based in Northampton.
James Brown is a Member of the governors’ Education & Personnel committee and is Chairman of the Marketing Committee. James has two children in the Junior school.
Mr S Coleman
Extensive background in IT Operations, Development and Management. Currently Head of Global IT Compliance, Governance and Controls for Avon Products Inc. Responsible for IT Compliance, Governance and Control initiatives covering some 70+ Markets/Countries. Lives locally in Walgrave.
Mrs J Harrop
My son joined Squirrels in 2002 when my family moved to Northamptonshire from North Yorkshire, and he has since now progressed through the school and has gone onto University. I am a dental surgeon with a background in the care of adults and children with a variety of special needs, and I currently work in a local psychiatric hospital.
I joined the School’s governing body in 2013 and my particular areas of interest are Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
Mr A Moodie
Andrew was Director of Music at Pitsford School from 2000 until his retirement from teaching in 2013. He now works for the Royal School of Church Music as co-ordinator for the south of England and is an organist and choir director at a church in Northampton. He has served as a governor at Pitsford School since 2014 with particular interest in staff liaison and the curriculum.
Reverend S Trott
Reverend Trott studied at the universities of Hull, Cambridge, Leeds and Cardiff.
He has been a Board Member at the Church Commissioners, the UK’s second biggest charity, and a member of the General Synod for 20 years.
“I have been the Rector of Pitsford since 1988 and was invited to be visiting chaplain to the new Grammar School (now called Pitsford School) soon after it opened in 1989. All three of our children attended Pitsford School.”
Reverend Trott is a Member of the governors’ Education & Personnel committee.
Dr. M Gaskell
Martin’s career has been concerned with higher education policy and management,culminating as Rector of the University of Northampton (formerly Nene College).
On retirement from Northampton, he was appointed Director of St George’s House,Windsor Castle. He now serves on a number of boards, and bodies concerned with higher and further education, and undertakes education consultancies. He was Master of the Worshipful Company of Educators in 2016-17.
Living in Kettering, he has various commitments in Northamptonshire, including: serving as a Deputy Lieutenant for the County, Vice-President of the Northamptonshire Record Society, Governor of St Andrew’s Healthcare and Chairman of its Pension Fund, Trustee of the Core Theatre Corby, Chairman of CPRE (North Northants), and Ambassador for Tresham College.
Mr A Ross
My daughters came to Pistford in 1999 as part of the first cohort of girls. Since then I have been actively involved with the school initially through the PTA then as a Governor. I am a Chartered Accountant and MBA, working as an Interim Financial Controller to businesses in the local area.
Mrs S Burditt
Now retired, I have been in education throughout my working life. My final substantive post was as Vice Principal at an 11-16 Secondary School. This was a challenging but rewarding role involving all aspects of Leadership and Management.
I now have two happy granddaughters at Pitsford School, one in the Junior School and one in the Senior School.
Mr P Morton
My education was at Spratton Hall School, Worksop college, Shuttleworth agricultural college.
My occupation is in farming, small business letting, import and export agricultural chemicals. I am married to Deborah and have a married daughter 33 an a son 24. I have played Cricket, Rugby, Hockey an am now more of a follower of sport.
My Father was a founder member of Pitsford School .
Mr J Weitzel
I retired in 2016 after 38 years at Loughborough Grammar School, the last 13 as Deputy Head and was twice Acting Headmaster. A mathematician I also was heavily involved in coaching rugby, cricket and athletics; producing plays and singing in the choir. I was responsible for the School’s 500th anniversary and the visit of the Queen in 1996.
From 1998 to 2005 I managed England’s U15 Cricket XI and in
2019 was awarded the Times Educational Supplement’s award for ‘Special Services’ to Independent Education.
