With Easter now almost over it is less than 365 sleeps until our next ski trip to Les Deux Alpes in March 2020. We just could not resist looking back to this time last year at some of the fabulous pictures of the trip, not least because the weather this Easter has been so surprisingly and wondrously warm.
For those of you who don’t know this resort, it has the largest skiable glacier in Europe which means that you can ski all year round, even in the summer. It is Frances second oldest ski resort after Chamonix. The village is at 1,650m but lifts run to 3,600m. We fell in love with it because even the nursery slopes are high up so get superb snow, the lifts start just a few meters from our hotel and this means we can ski down the mountain for a hot lunch and then get back on the slopes fully fuelled for the afternoon. Last year as well as the actual skiiing, we spent our evenings in the open air swimming pool 😊 and on the ice rink, tobogganing and buying vast quantities of crisps and chocolate from the happiest shopkeeper in all of France who was very sad to see us go.
Fun fact – last year we did an average ski of approximately 28 miles a day!
